Overview
We are delighted to announce that Eva Nielsen is presenting her new installation Rift at the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris from September 26 to February 22, 2026, following her nomination for the 25th edition of the Prix Marcel Duchamp.

Specially conceived for the exhibition space, Rift merges diverse processes in an alchemical interplay. The installation unfolds as a monumental yet sensitive environment, inviting visitors to wander freely. Between layers and voids, spectral images appear — fragmented landscapes shifting between concealment and revelation. These visions evoke abandoned places while reflecting the state of marshy waters, alluvial soils, and vegetation.
The project brings together a new series of 10 paintings created in 2025 — including two large-scale works — with photographic fragments captured this spring in the marshes of the Albufera Natural Park in Spain.

The exhibition is curated by Julia Garimorth (Chief Curator and Head of Contemporary Collections at the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris) and Jean-Pierre Criqui (art historian, critic, and curator in the Contemporary Collections Department of the Musée National d’Art Moderne – Centre Pompidou) and runs until the 22nd of February.
