Overview
In extenso is currently facing a period of significant financial fragility that threatens our very existence, our employees, and our ongoing collaborations with art workers. Despite 20 years of activity and the continued support of our partners — the French Ministry of Culture (DRAC Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes), the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regional Council, the Puy-de-Dôme Departmental Council, Clermont Auvergne Métropole, and the City of Clermont-Ferrand — In extenso now finds itself at a decisive moment in its development.

Having operated for many years with a single staff member and the support of numerous volunteers, we are now rethinking our structure in line with our commitment to advocating for sustainable working conditions for all art workers. This necessary evolution brings us face to face with our financial reality: to move forward, we need support.

To this end, we have invited more than 150 international artists — with whom we have built long-standing professional relationships, and in some cases close collaborations — to take part in a fundraising auction, which will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the Palais de Tokyo.

In keeping with our mission to support and engage with artists, the auction has been conceived not only to ensure the sustainability of our projects, but also to benefit participating artists, with 50% of each sale going directly to them.

All works will be on view to the public free of charge from 4pm to 6pm prior to the auction.
Led by auctioneer Catherine Villemur, the sale will then take place from 6pm to 9pm. Due to limited capacity, attendance will be by registration only.

The success of this auction will enable us to continue advocating for a committed and inclusive vision of art, reflected both in our activities at In extenso and in the pages of La belle revue.

We extend our warmest thanks to the Palais de Tokyo and Clermont-Ferrand Massif Central 2028, without whom this event would not have been possible.
