In the exhibition Spaces Between Zilla Leutenegger presents ten of her multimedia installations and a number of monotypes, offering glances of mysteriously inhabited architecture and faint outlines of a life. It is as if someone had moved into the building, leaving occasional traces and shadows of their existence. As well as telling short, poetic stories, these moments invite visitors to rediscover the museum – and to see it with different eyes.
Her poetic works enter into dialogue with those of Jean Tinguely. Leutenegger’s quiet, large-scale projections encounter Tinguely’s mechanical dynamism, creating an interplay of movement and opening up new perspectives on the poetry of the everyday.
At the heart of Leutenegger’s practice is an interest in presence, intimacy and architecture, and in the subtle traces that suggest life without fully revealing it. Through reduced gestures, shifting shadows and fragmented narratives, she transforms everyday situations into quiet, poetic moments.
