This book of interviews is the result of numerous studio conversations between the Berlin-based writer Axel Ruoff and Valérie Favre. Together, they have been discussing her painting practice since 1990, as well as art more broadly. The book soon unfolds into a wandering journey through the artist’s life, from her childhood in Switzerland and her years in Paris to her move to Berlin in 1999 and everything that followed.
