It is with great pleasure that we present the exhibition catalogue Amol K Patil: The Shadow of Lustre. Published to accompany Amol K Patil’s first solo exhibition at our Zurich premises on Zahnradstrasse, the catalogue presents a record of his latest works. Produced in close collaboration with the artist, this publication also marks his first monograph.
My first encounter with Amol K Patil took place in October 2024, during his solo exhibition at the De Pont Museum in Tilburg, the Netherlands. Since then, several meetings in Zurich, his presentation at the Röda Sten Konsthall in Gothenburg in February 2025, and an impressive visit to Mumbai in December 2025—during which the artist introduced me to his city and his working environment—have paved the way for this exhibition.
The present catalogue not only documents and reflects on the current exhibition but also traces the artistic development of Amol K Patil in a comprehensive essay by Luca Cerizza. Amila Puzić contributes a detailed and sensitive essay on the exhibition, which insightfully illuminates the thematic depth and formal precision of his work.
