Didier William’s Gesture to Home brings together large-scale paintings and freestanding sculptures into a single environment. At the center are depictions of bald cypress trees—native to the American South—shown as upright forms that reference both botanical and human bodies.
Figures appear partially merged with the trees, with carved eyes embedded across the surface. The surrounding paintings extend the space of the installation, drawing viewers into a setting that references migration, memory, and landscape.
