In his portrait and studio photographs, American photographer Paul Mpagi Sepuya (b. 1982) combines sensual intimacy with visual precision. Through intimate encounters with friends, he creates multi-layered compositions that center a queer and Black perspective. Using mirrors and staged arrangements, he creates a visual interplay of seeing and desire that also draws the viewers into the scene.
Produced in cooperation with Fotomuseum Winterthur, this is Paul Mpagi Sepuya's first major solo exhibition in Germany.
