We will be showing two solo shows of Raffi Kalenderian (born in 1981 in Los Angeles, where he lives and works) and Travis Boyer (born in 1979 in Fort Worth, Texas. Lives and works in New York).
“Eighteen With a Bullet,” will be the seventh solo exhibition and the first in the Parisian space by Raffi Kalenderian. For the occasion, Kalenderian creates fifteen new vibrant works continuing his series of portraits dedicated to friends and fellow artists captured in moments of intimacy.
“Twoness” will be the first European solo exhibition by American artist Travis Boyer in the gallery’s project space. Under the title “Twoness”. Boyer aims to explore how we possess a deep and vast vocabulary that includes binaries, twins, connections, couples, echoes, but also how there are many tender states of duality that we experience which lack a name. On each of the nine panels of silk velvet, combining in many ways approaches of painting and craftsmanship through the tools he employs, the subjects engage in crucial moments of collision, self-definition, or reconciliation in sensual compositions that prompt reflection on these dual instances.
